Online Catch-Up TV Services

 

Introduction:

 

You can catch up on TV programmes you have missed during the week using your normal Computer & Broadband connection BUT you can’t watch “Live” Programmes without special equipment and probably paying to view!

This is THE ONE to make a start with - catch up on TV Programmes you’ve missed over the last 7 days or just browse to view something you fancy! (You can watch or Download typically for up to 30days)
Advert free - that’s nice!

The ITV Player has a huge 30-day library of free catch-up programmes which you can watch on-line. No registration is required and there are optional parental controls .... You can skip forwards but NOT past the Advert(s) (Even so, it’s no worse than watching normal ITV)

This one has no Download or Registration requirements.  Not an easy site to use but it does offer a great catalogue of shows going back well over 15 years. Parental Controls can be set up , with a Pin used to allow adults access to all shows. You can skip forwards but NOT past the Advert(s)

This one is for Channel 5 - give it a try! Free for up to 30days but it also offers content to rent or buy. Paid-for content is Downloaded to your computer. You can skip forwards but NOT past the Advert(s)

 

Note: For TVcatchup, and some of the others below, you will need to Register on-line before being able to fully use the Site’s options. If you do this - we suggest that you set up and use a second eMail Address - just to avoid any future Junk Mail which they may send you (E.g. Set yourself up with a Google Mail Address)

It gives you around 40 channels BUT it has annoying Adverts at the start, it’s hard to use and you can’t skip forwards (I couldn’t be bothered!)

Blinkbox focuses on paid-for movie streams but also offers TV programmes, many of which are FREE without the need for Registration But With Adverts of course!
Try some Old/Original Dr Who’s for instance - in Black & White! OR how about some Popeye?

Lovefilm is best known as a DVD rental service  but Click the “Watch On-Line” then “FREE” and you can find a few television programmes to stream for free without registration AFTER the initial Advert(s) of course!
